Valentine’s Day is only a week away. This Sunday we will study I John 4: 7-21 (“Love One Another”).
Verse 18 and 19 says “Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because He first loved us.”
When Laurie and I were dating one factor that helped me know that she was the girl for me was trust. I knew she was committed to our friendship, as was I. There was no fear in me that she wanted to date someone else. I never asked her to “go steady” with me. I figured if we truly loved one another we would be committed to one another. Our love is based on trust that comes from His love in our hearts. St. John says that because of His love for us we do not have to fear His Judgement that will be poured out on sin. His love frees us from living a life of fear. We have the love that others are searching for. As Valentine’s Day approaches, let’s be alert for opportunities to share His love with others.

Power Training
This Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday, so we will be hosting Jeans and Jersey Day this Sunday morning here at Capital Christian Center. I will be speaking on the topic of "Power Training."
Sports trainers help athletes develop in the areas of strength, speed, agility, and explosive power. John 1:12 says “But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”
Join with me in prayer, and put on your jeans and favorite sports jersey and bring a friend to church. Together we can score a win with Jesus! I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
