Many college football players sit by the phone hopefully waiting for “the call” to be drafted by an NFL team. The Bible tells us that God also “calls” or chooses people to be on His team. In I Samuel 16 we read about David being selected to serve as Gods appointed King over Israel. In I Samuel 16:7 we see God’s number one requirement for being chosen is the “heart”. The verse reads, “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height...the Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Let’s pray to have pure hearts and hearts that seek to honor the Lord.

An Anchor Can Save Your Life!
In June of 1998 Charlie Blanchet and Des McGrath survived the "Ultimate Storm" in the South Pacific. The waves reached 80 feet and wind gusts reached 177 mph. They credit their anchor for saving their lives.
Hebrew 6:19 says "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…" As we place our faith in Christ we are secure in Him. The storms of life will blow but we find our security in Him.
This Sunday is Part 3 in a three week series called "Established."
Join me in prayer for this Sunday's services. Also, invite someone who needs the security that only Christ can give to come and worship with us.

A Solid Foundation
The strength of any structure lies in its foundation. The foundation holds a house or building, bearing its weight and keeps it upright.
The importance of a solid foundation can't be underestimated. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27, in summary, that the person who builds his life on my words is like a wise man who builds on the rock, but the one who ignores my words is like a foolish man who builds on the sand.
This Sunday I will be teaching from Matthew 7: 24-27 - "Build Your Life on a Solid Foundation."
Join me in prayer for tonight's Bible studies and our weekend services. Invite someone to come and worship the Lord with us.

Happy New Year!
God likes new things. In Isaiah 43:19 the Lord told his people that He was going to do something new. Verse 19 reads "For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland." God had brought His people out of Egypt and performed many mighty miracles. But He was going to do something even greater…something New.
The Lord has blessed us with a New Year. Lord give us eyes to see the New things that you are doing and want to do in our individual lives, our families, our church, community and the world.
The Bible says He will give us a new heart, make us a new creation and give us a new song to sing.
It is an honor to serve as your Pastor.
I look forward to the New Things the Lord is going to do this year for His glory and our blessing.
