Beloved

The Gospel or “Good News” of Jesus is so powerful that it changes our past, present and future.

We are in a four week study of what it means to be “Chosen” by Christ. Our key scripture passage is Ephesians 1:3-8. This Sunday we will study how the Gospel changes our present life.

Ephesians 1:6 says "To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved...” Because of His grace he calls us His “Beloved.” The word beloved means “one that is held in great affection, one that is thoroughly loved, to belong.” When you break the word down it literally means to “Be Loved.”

Today, this day, you can know that God deeply loves you and you belong in His family. Wow, this changes the way we see ourselves and how we can view others today in the present. Because He loves us, we can love ourselves and love others. Receive His love and pass it on to others this week!

It is an honor to serve as your Pastor. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Work And Rest: We Need A Balance Of Both

In 1894 Congress set aside Labor Day as a Holiday to honor the American worker. The Bible says that we should “Enter His Rest”; the rest that only the Lord can give. On this coming Labor Day weekend, I encourage you to rest in Christ.

In Matthew 11:28, Christ said “Come to me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.”

This Sunday we study how to receive the rest that only He can give. Invite someone to come and worship with us. If you will be traveling I pray for safe travel for you and your family.

It is an honor to serve as your Pastor.

Peace That Passes All Understanding

This Sunday, we'll be studying Psalm 23:5.

Have you ever encountered a challenge you just couldn’t figure out? Maybe you felt like your mind was running in circles. David wrote, “You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” The Lord can give us a “peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil. 4:7). Even in our toughest days we are blessed because of Jesus.

Join me in prayer for this weekend’s service. Also, invite someone to come and worship with us. Or, offer to pick them up and bring them with you to church.

Tonight the Sean and Kay Levesque will speak on human trafficking at 7:00 pm. We can all do something to bring people out of darkness and into His wonderful Light.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday or this evening.
