Looking To The New Year

I trust that you had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you are making some time to rest between Christmas and New Years Day. The week between the Holidays is a good time to reflect on God’s blessings in the past year. It is also a time to look with anticipation on the New Year ahead.

Matthew 2:9 says “…And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was.” The Wise Men followed the star to find Christ. Then afterward they took a new direction. Let’s be like those Wise Men and follow Christ into and throughout the New Year.

This Sunday we will meet for one worship service at 10:00 AM.

Thank you for your faithfulness over the past year. It is an honor to serve as your Pastor.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Peace is a Person

This Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Advent on which we will light the candle of Peace.

We often seek for peace in a place of quiet, rest, calm or devoid of conflict. Peace can be those things but in a greater sense Peace is a Person…Jesus. The scriptures tell us that Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Only Christ can bring lasting peace to our mind, soul, and planet. In Luke 2:14 the angel announced “Peace and Goodwill to all men” on the birth of Christ. This Sunday we will study how to have His peace in
our life.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

It is an honor to serve as your Pastor.

God With Us Brings Joy

Joy was the foremost emotion when Jesus was born.

In Luke 2 we read about the angels announcing the birth of Jesus to the Shepherd. Luke 2:10 reads "But the Angel reassured them; 'Don’t be afraid!' he said. I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people." (NLT)

Jesus said that He desires for our joy to be full. Isn’t it great that our Heavenly Father is a God of joy? Joy is also listed as a "fruit of the Holy Spirit." In other words, as we abide or live in Christ, His joy will be present in our life.

As you live in Christ I pray for His abiding Joy to be very present in your life this Christmas.

This Sunday we will light the Advent Candle of Joy.

May his Joy burn brightly in your heart. Look for ways to share his joy with others this week. Reach out to someone who needs His joy.

It is an honor to serve as your Pastor.
