Love Is An Action

Someone has said: “It is hard to express love with a clenched fist.” Love is action. Love must always be expressed not only in our words but in our actions.

This Sunday we will study I John 3:11–24. I encouraged you to study this passage and let His word minister to you. Think about ways you can show His love to others this week.

Join with me in prayer for our services. Invite someone to come and worship with us.

Walk In His Love

As a teenager I heard a song by Maranatha Music that caught my ear. It is based on I John 3:1: “Behold what manner of love the Father hath given into us, that we should be called the sons of God!” (KJV). The NIV says that He has lavished His love upon us. In light of His wonderful love and the fact that we are now His children we have real hope. This love and hope causes us to keep ourselves for Him until He returns.

This Sunday we will study I John 3:1–10. I encourage you to read and study ahead of time. Join me in prayer for this weekend’s services. Prayer about who you can invite to come and worship with us.

Also, I encourage you to participate in the week of prayer by either stopping by the church or praying where you are.

Walk in his love.

What Are You Expecting In The New Year?

Luke 2:25-35 tells of a man named Simeon. He found what he was looking for, or was expecting. One day in the temple he met Jesus. Why did he meet Jesus? He met Jesus because he was looking for him. Luke 2:25 says; “He was…eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come…” Many others came to the temple that same day but they missed Jesus while Simeon saw him.

Jeremiah 29:13 says; “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for me with all your heart.” There’s a song we like to sing that says; “Open the eyes of my heart Lord…to see you high and lifted up.”

Matthew 6:33 says: “Seek first His kingdom…then all these things shall be added unto you.”

My prayer for this New Year is that we will be like Simeon, who was expecting to see Jesus. Lord, open our eyes and our hearts to see you and how you are working. Then, may we join with you in what you are doing.

The Lord has great things in store for this year. Let’s walk with faith and expectation.
