Work And Rest: We Need A Balance Of Both

In 1894 Congress set aside Labor Day as a Holiday to honor the American worker. The Bible says that we should “Enter His Rest”; the rest that only the Lord can give. On this coming Labor Day weekend, I encourage you to rest in Christ.

In Matthew 11:28, Christ said “Come to me all who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.”

This Sunday we study how to receive the rest that only He can give. Invite someone to come and worship with us. If you will be traveling I pray for safe travel for you and your family.

It is an honor to serve as your Pastor.

Peace That Passes All Understanding

This Sunday, we'll be studying Psalm 23:5.

Have you ever encountered a challenge you just couldn’t figure out? Maybe you felt like your mind was running in circles. David wrote, “You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” The Lord can give us a “peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil. 4:7). Even in our toughest days we are blessed because of Jesus.

Join me in prayer for this weekend’s service. Also, invite someone to come and worship with us. Or, offer to pick them up and bring them with you to church.

Tonight the Sean and Kay Levesque will speak on human trafficking at 7:00 pm. We can all do something to bring people out of darkness and into His wonderful Light.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday or this evening.

Death Is The Gateway To Eternity

Psalm 23:4 says “Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me…”

Death or the grave is not a stopping place but something we pass through to eternity. David said because the Lord was with him he did not have to fear death. Someone asked Billy Graham if he was afraid to die. He said, “No, I am not afraid to die I just don’t look forward to the dying process.” I am thankful that believers in Christ do not have to fear death. Jesus, our Shepherd Savior, walks with us in life, through death and into eternity.

What a wonderful hope we have.

This Sunday we will study Psalm 23:4. Join with me in prayer for this weekend’s services. Also, invite someone to come with you.

Let’s be alert for opportunities to share the hope we have in Christ with others.

In The Paths Of Righteousness

A few summers ago our family visited the Arches National Park and Moab, Utah. My son Gabriel and I went on a four wheeler excursion in the desert. The scenery and the trails where beautiful. One necessity to our successful trip was having a guide. Without a guide we could have easily gotten lost or off on the wrong trail.

Psalm 23:3 says “…He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name sake.” I am so thankful that in this life and the one to come we have the most excellent guide; Jesus, our Shepherd Savior. This Sunday we sill study Psalm 23:3.

Join with me in prayer for our weekend services. Also, invite someone to come and worship the Lord with us.
